Morrissey , Griffith Observatory LA. 1994
This was for Q Magazine. Morrissey was living in LA on Sunset Boulevard, I knew he respected James Dean and the film ‘Rebel without a cause’. The Griffith Observatory in the Hollywood hills, is where the film was set, so seemed a suitable location. We were expecting him at 2:00pm, the weather was amazing, he arrived fashionably late at 5:00pm. The sun had gone, clouds arrived. My Panoramic camera and the trusty Norman flash gave me the glimpse of evening light I needed. On the lamp below where he sat someone had previously scratched ‘Soul’
